Privacy Policy
Effective July 27, 2026. This policy explains how Clipzle handles personal information. It applies to clipzle.com and every feature of the Clipzle service. Our Terms of Service govern your use of the service.
1. Who we are and what this policy covers
Clipzle (also referred to as we, us and our) provides an artificial intelligence video editing service that turns a long video into short vertical clips and, at the direction of the account holder, publishes those clips to social accounts the account holder has connected. Clipzle is operated from the United States and is the controller of the personal information described below.
You can reach us about any privacy matter at clipzleai@gmail.com. We respond to privacy requests sent to that address, and it is the address to use for the rights described in sections 13 to 15.
Clipzle is an independent service. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or operated by TikTok, Google, YouTube, Meta, Twitch or any other platform named in this policy.
2. Information we collect
We collect the following categories of information.
Account information. Your name, email address and profile image, received from the authentication provider you sign in with (Clerk, including Google sign-in if you choose it). We store an internal account identifier and your plan, credit balance and role. We never receive or store your Google password.
Content you submit. The video files you upload or the video links you paste, together with everything we derive from them in order to do the work you asked for: audio extracted for transcription, transcripts, captions and translations, clip boundaries and scores, titles, thumbnails, rendered clip files, and the editing settings you choose. If you upload your own B-roll footage, we store those files and the tags you give them.
Connected platform data. If you connect a social account, we store the OAuth access token and refresh token needed to act on your instruction, the platform account identifier, your display name or handle on that platform, the scopes you granted, and the metrics we read back for the analytics we show you (for example view, like and comment counts on clips published through Clipzle). Sections 5 to 7 describe each platform specifically.
Payment information. Subscriptions and credit purchases are processed by Stripe. Stripe receives your payment details directly; we never see or store your full card number. We store your Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, your plan, and the status and dates of your subscription.
Usage and technical information. Server logs generated when you use the service, including IP address, browser and device type, pages and API routes requested, timestamps, referring pages and error diagnostics. We use this to operate the service, investigate faults and abuse, and enforce rate limits.
Communications and support. Messages you send us, and the email address you send them from.
Review links. If you share a clip for review using a share link, the reviewer can submit an approval or a written note without creating an account. We store that verdict, the note and the time it was submitted, and show it to you.
We do not intentionally collect special categories of personal data (such as health, biometric identifiers, precise geolocation, or information about religion or sexual orientation). Your videos may of course contain such information; we process them only as described in this policy and do not analyse them to infer sensitive characteristics.
3. How we use information, and our legal bases
We use personal information only for the purposes below.
To provide the service: authenticating you, transcribing and analysing your videos, generating and rendering clips, translating and dubbing when you ask for it, scheduling and publishing to accounts you connected, showing you analytics, and running the features you switch on. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you.
To bill and prevent abuse of credits: processing payments, applying and refunding credits, enforcing plan limits and rate limits, and detecting fraud or misuse. Legal basis: performance of our contract, and our legitimate interest in protecting the service.
To operate, secure and improve the service: monitoring reliability, diagnosing errors, investigating security incidents, and improving features using aggregated or de-identified usage statistics. Legal basis: legitimate interests.
To communicate with you: service email such as a notification that your clips are ready, billing notices, and replies to your messages. Legal basis: performance of our contract, and consent where required for anything promotional.
To comply with law: meeting legal, tax and accounting obligations, and responding to lawful requests. Legal basis: legal obligation and legitimate interests.
We do not sell personal information, we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, and we do not use your content or connected platform data for advertising of any kind.
4. How AI is used on your content
Clipzle uses automated systems and third party AI models to do the work you request: transcription, choosing candidate clips, scoring them, writing suggested titles, generating thumbnails and voiceovers, and translating captions. Transcription runs on our own infrastructure or, depending on configuration, through OpenAI. Text and image generation runs through OpenAI.
OpenAI processes this content as our service provider in order to return a result to you. We do not permit our providers to use your content to train their models, and we do not use your content, your transcripts or your connected platform data to train generalised AI or machine learning models of our own.
AI output is a suggestion, not a judgement. Scores, titles and translations can be wrong. Nothing is published to a connected account except at your instruction or on a schedule you set up, and you remain responsible for reviewing what you publish. See section 5 of the Terms of Service.
5. TikTok data
If you choose to connect a TikTok account, Clipzle uses TikTok API Services through TikTok Login Kit and the TikTok Content Posting API. You authorise the connection yourself on TikTok, and TikTok shows you the exact permissions requested before you approve them.
What we receive. With the user.info.basic scope we receive your TikTok open identifier, display name and avatar URL, so we can show you which account is connected. With the video.upload and video.publish scopes we receive the authorisation needed to send a clip you selected to your own TikTok account, plus the identifier and URL of the resulting post so we can link you to it. We also receive and store the access and refresh tokens for your connection.
How we use it. Solely to display your connected account inside Clipzle, to publish or draft the specific clips you chose (immediately when you press Post now, or at the scheduled time you configured), and to show you the resulting post. We choose the visibility you select, and default to a private, self-only visibility.
What we never do with it. We do not sell or rent TikTok data, do not transfer it to third parties except the infrastructure providers listed in section 8 that store it on our behalf, do not use it for advertising or profiling, do not use it to train AI or machine learning models, and do not attempt to identify individuals or combine it with data from other sources.
Retention and deletion. Tokens and TikTok profile fields are kept only while your account remains connected. Disconnecting TikTok in Settings deletes the stored tokens and profile fields from our database. Deleting your Clipzle account deletes them along with the rest of your data. You can also revoke Clipzle from inside the TikTok app at any time, which immediately ends our access, and you can email clipzleai@gmail.com to request deletion.
Our use of TikTok data complies with the TikTok for Developers Terms of Service and the TikTok Content Sharing Guidelines, and content posted through Clipzle must comply with the TikTok Community Guidelines. TikTok handles the data it holds about you under the TikTok Privacy Policy.
6. YouTube and Google data
If you connect a YouTube channel, Clipzle uses YouTube API Services. By connecting, you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service, and the Google Privacy Policy governs how Google handles your information.
With your permission we upload the videos you choose to publish, read your channel and video statistics for the analytics and coaching we show you, and — only if you switch on title testing for a specific published clip — update the title or thumbnail of that clip on your channel. We act on your own channel only, and only on actions you started or scheduled.
Clipzle use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not use Google or YouTube data for advertising, do not sell it, do not transfer it except to the providers in section 8 acting on our behalf, and do not use it to train generalised AI or machine learning models. You can revoke access at any time in Settings or from your Google Account permissions.
7. Other connected platforms and media sources
Other publishing destinations you may connect (for example Instagram, Facebook, Threads, LinkedIn, X, Pinterest, Reddit or Bluesky, whether natively or through our publishing partner) work the same way: we store the authorisation and account identifier, publish only the clips you chose, read back published-post metrics, and delete the stored authorisation when you disconnect.
When a clip uses stock or reaction footage, Clipzle queries media libraries such as Pexels, Giphy or Twitch for material matching a keyword. Those requests are made by our servers and contain the search keyword only. They do not include your identity, your account or your video.
8. Service providers we share data with
We use a small number of providers to run Clipzle. Each acts on our instructions, receives only what its function requires, and is bound by contract to protect it.
- Vercel — hosting of the web application, and request logs.
- Railway — hosting of the background worker that renders and publishes.
- Supabase — the PostgreSQL database holding your account, projects and tokens.
- Cloudflare R2 — object storage for uploaded video, rendered clips and thumbnails.
- Upstash — Redis queues and rate limiting.
- Clerk — authentication, sessions and organisation membership.
- Stripe — payment processing and subscription billing.
- Resend — transactional email such as clip-ready notifications.
- OpenAI — transcription, clip scoring, titles, thumbnails, translation and voice.
We will update this list when it changes. We do not permit any of these providers to use your information for their own purposes.
9. When we disclose information
Beyond the providers above and the platforms you deliberately connect, we disclose personal information only: to comply with law or a valid legal request; to enforce our Terms of Service or investigate suspected abuse, fraud or security incidents; to protect the rights, property or safety of Clipzle, our users or the public; and in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, in which case we will give notice before your information becomes subject to a different policy.
If you work inside a team workspace, projects created in that workspace are visible to other members of it. Publishing credentials always stay personal to the member who connected them.
10. How long we keep data
- Account records: for as long as your account is active, then deleted within 30 days of account deletion.
- Uploaded source video: deleted automatically once every clip in the project has been rendered, and in any case on project deletion.
- Projects, clips, transcripts and rendered exports: while your account is active, or until you delete the project or clip.
- Connected platform tokens and profile fields: until you disconnect the platform or delete your account, whichever comes first.
- Share links and reviewer verdicts: until you revoke the link or delete the project.
- Server and security logs: typically 30 days, longer if needed to investigate an incident.
- Billing records: as long as tax and accounting law requires, normally seven years.
Encrypted backups may retain a copy for a short period after deletion, after which they expire on their own schedule.
11. How we protect data
All traffic to Clipzle travels over TLS. Your data is held in access-controlled managed infrastructure, reachable only by the application and by administrators who need it to operate the service. The access and refresh tokens for your connected social accounts are encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM authenticated encryption before they are written to the database, so a copy of the database alone does not expose them. Our own credentials live in the hosting platform secret stores rather than in code, and access to production systems is limited to the operator of the service.
No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you and any regulator as applicable law requires. Please report any security concern to clipzleai@gmail.com.
12. Where data is processed
Clipzle is operated from the United States and our providers process data primarily in the United States. If you use Clipzle from outside the United States, your information will be transferred there. Where such a transfer is from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we rely on the European Commission Standard Contractual Clauses (and the UK Addendum where relevant) in our agreements with the providers listed in section 8.
13. Your privacy rights
Whatever your location, you can exercise the following through the product or by emailing us:
- Access a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct information that is inaccurate or out of date.
- Delete your account and its data, from Settings, Danger zone — this removes your login, projects, clips, exports, scheduled posts and connected-account tokens.
- Disconnect any connected platform at any time in Settings.
- Export or receive your data in a portable form.
- Object to or ask us to restrict a particular use.
- Withdraw a consent you previously gave.
Email clipzleai@gmail.com and we will verify your request against your account and respond within the period applicable law allows, normally 30 days. We will not treat you differently for exercising any of these rights.
14. Additional notice for California residents
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended, the categories of personal information we collect are: identifiers (name, email, account and platform identifiers, IP address); commercial information (subscription, credit and purchase records); internet or network activity (usage and log data); audio, visual and electronic information (the videos, audio and clips you submit and we produce); and professional information where your content or handle reveals it. The sources, purposes, retention and disclosure of each are described in sections 2, 3, 8, 9 and 10.
We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, including for consumers we know to be under 16. You have the rights to know, delete, correct, and to limit the use of sensitive personal information; exercise them by emailing clipzleai@gmail.com. You may use an authorised agent, with proof of authorisation.
15. Additional notice for the EEA, UK and Switzerland
Clipzle is the controller of your personal information. Our legal bases are set out in section 3, and international transfers in section 12. In addition to the rights in section 13, you may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Where we rely on legitimate interests, we have assessed that our interest in operating and securing a service you asked to use does not override your rights.
16. Children
Clipzle is not intended for anyone under 18, and you must be 18 or older to hold an account. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a minor has created an account, email clipzleai@gmail.com and we will delete it.
18. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service changes. The effective date at the top always reflects the current version. If a change materially affects how we handle your personal information, we will notify you by email or in the product before it takes effect. Continuing to use Clipzle after a change means you accept the updated policy.
19. How to contact us
For any privacy question, request or complaint — including access, deletion, correction and portability — email clipzleai@gmail.com. This is the fastest and most reliable way to reach the person responsible for privacy at Clipzle, and it is monitored. We will acknowledge your request and tell you what we need to verify it.
